My current condition

It has been quite some time I did not update my blog. How am I doing now?

Bad. Worse. Worst.

Since mid of September I was caught sick.

The first week was fever, terrible sore throat, running nose, cough... yeah... all those flu symptoms.

When I was almost recovered, I got terrible stomachache in midnight 2 days in a roll. I went to A & E, suspected gastric problem.

Ohh... no... gastric problem is not good. I can't believe someone obese like me who never stop eating can have gastric problem!

I went to visit gastroenterology specialist, did blood test and ultrasound at abdomen. Well, based on the blood test report and I experienced diarrhea at the later stage, it should be either food poisoning or viral infection instead. Felt relieved.

BUT... all these cost me more than RM800! You may wonder why I was so 'ken cheong' (worried). Everyone knows, seeing a specialist in private hospital will cost a fortune.

I had no choice, because I would be going to Denver next week to attending company trainings. I don't want to suffer severe stomachache alone in the hotel room for 2 weeks, helpless.

When I was in the plane, I got terrible stomachache again... fortunately I got some medicine from the specialist as rescue kit. I would like to apologize to those whe were in the same flight, there was just so much gas in my stomach.

Now I am in Highlands Ranch, Denver, for almost a week. According to http://www.fallingrain.com/world/:
Kuala Lumpur: Altitude: 200 feet
Denver: Altitude: 5295 feet
Highlands Ranch: Altitude: 5803 feet
This means it is more difficult to breathe and easier to get dehydrated.

The temperature could be from 5°C to 25°C. It is usually cold in the morning, evening and at night.

I went out to run on the second day after I arrived. It was around 12°C to 14°C. The run was so bad, I settled to walking just after few Ks. It could be the high altitude, the temperature... but most importantly I have lost the fitness as I had not run 2 weeks due to previous sickness.

Now my nose never stops running (yeah... I can't run with my feet, but my nose). Lips and throat are always dry, cough with phlegm. Felt slightly high temperature at the forehead sometimes. Sleep time is irregular, having menses too. I don't know how am I going to train.

I was so happy to sign up the half marathon in Denver Marathon on 19th Oct 2008 before I was sick. I was so looking forward to train at a new place. I wanted to announce that my first overseas race would be in United States instead of Singapore!

Now I don't know what is my fate on 19th. How about the Singapore marathon on 7th December? I don't dare to think of it at all.

Thanks everyone! I will take care of myself.

The temperature now could be as low as -2 at some times (usually early morning or at night).

I have bought a long sleeves runnint-T at a bargain price, and it helped run outside yesterday :)
